Frances “Franny” S. Wolfe, 77, of Davenport, Iowa, died March 24, 2020, at her home, surrounded by friends and family. A private memorial service will be held on June 11, 2020 at Weerts Funeral Home. She has been cremated.
Wolfe was born Frances Siena Cupp on November 17, 1942, to Willis and Marie Cupp in Moline, Illinois. She was graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Nauvoo, Illinois (1960), and Marycrest College in Davenport (1964). She married Thomas A. Wolfe, of Davenport, on August 1, 1964; they divorced in 1995. Franny Wolfe taught in the Davenport public schools and later worked for Moline Public Hospital and Modern Woodmen of America, from which she retired in 2006. She was an active member at Edwards Congregational United Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and birdwatcher.
Wolfe is survived by her children: Bridget Wolfe, Brendan Wolfe, and Sara (Albert) Womble; grandchildren: Sienna Womble, Indigo Womble, and Beatrix Wolfe; and her sister Mary Castrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James and Eugene Cupp; sisters: Sister Germaine Cupp and Kathleen Johnson; two infant siblings; and her former spouse Thomas Wolfe.
