Francis W. O'Malley

Francis W. O’Malley, 92, of Eldridge, IA passed away at his home on Sunday, August 14, 2016. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene in Rushville, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Francis was a native Kansan and was employed as a cable splicer for sixty years. He married Marilyn Bryant in 1954 and enjoyed listening to his family play Bluegrass Gospel music. He was an avid gardener and St. Louis Cardinals fan. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Francis enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also instrumental in starting the Rushville Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include, his wife, Marilyn; children: Terry (Diana) O’Malley, Stockton, IL and Debbie O’Malley, Davenport; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and sister, Bea. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen; parents, Daniel and Lena O’Malley; four brothers and a sister.
