

Gary Wayne Keil, 75, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at home with family present after a long illness from amyloidosis. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Weerts Funeral Home.
Mr. Keil was born on October 17, 1949 in Maquoketa, IA, the son of Wesley and Billie Williams Keil. He married Vickie Kay Russell on October 16, 1971 at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Muscatine, IA. He went from grade school to graduation at the Maquoketa Schools. He attended University of Wisconsin-Platteville for his general education and then started his truck driving career at Keil Oil; He later worked for Kapran, then UPS as a feeder driver. Gary retired after 30 years. He then went on to teach semi driving at Scott Community College.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie; daughter, Kelly of Davenport, IA; son, Reggie (Traci) of Davenport, IA; daughter, Tara Ann of Dubuque, IA; son, Brian of Davenport, IA; daughter, Brianne of Davenport, IA; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Wesley, and his mother, Billie.
