Gary was born October 20, 1957, in Davenport, to William and Delores (Willie) Moore. He was united in marriage to Christina Erskine on December 22, 2025 in Davenport. Gary drove bus for City Bus Transit in Davenport then Riverbend Transit. In later days, he drove school bus which he dearly loved, starting on August 21, 2023, for Alltown School Bussing.
He was a sports fanatic, especially the Chicago Bears, and could be found and preferred to be alone watching the game eating Hormel Chili on hotdogs, bag of chips and a drink. He enjoyed nature, tending to his yard his cat, Gracie, until she passed, but, most of all, spending time with the love of his life, Christina. Gary loved going to Rudy’s Tacos, and was proud to receive his red belt from Chung Kim Blackbelt Academy.
Their children had fond memories of special times, building things with legos with Makayla; Milo cracking jokes back and forth with Gary and Jacob who was in awe of how devoted he was to Chris and always put her first. They will cherish these few memories and many more throughout their lives.
Those left to honor his legacy include his wife, Christina, stepchildren: Jacob Lutkenhaus, Mallory “Milo” Shovar and Makayla Shovar, mother-in-law, Nancy Knapp, brother-in-law, Donald Collier, sister, Linda and niece Tracy.
His parents preceded him in death.
