Gene Allen Peckenschneider, 64, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Runge Mortuary from 4-7pm. Gene was born December 13, 1951 in Davenport, IA, son of Allen D. and Mildred (Motz) Peckenschneider. He was united in marriage to Joann J. Stuhr May 14, 1977. He was employed at Alcoa for 31 years and later worked for FDI. He was a Chicago White Sox and Iowa Hawkeye fan and played softball in the Alcoa league along with coaching little league. His hobby was keeping a pristine pool. Gene is survived by his wife, Joanne, Davenport; sons, Matt (Lindsey) Peckenschneider, Davenport and Nicholas (Sherry) Peckenschneider, Moline; five grandchildren, Austin, Nolan, Ethan, Blake and Branden; and sisters, Joyce Avey and Carol Peckenschneider.He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark; sister, Donna; parents; brother-in-law, Denny Avey and nephew, Ryan Avey.
