George Monroe Delp

George M. Delp, 77, of Davenport, passed away at home on Saturday, October 1, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Rosehill Cemetery, Buffalo, IA. Memorials may be made to the family.

George was born on August 19, 1939 in Davenport, IA the son of Arthur W. and Viola M. (Harper) Delp. He was united in marriage to Delana Caskey on July 22, 1994. He proudly served in the Navy for four years. He worked for the City of Davenport for 23 years and later retired from McCarthy Construction after 12 years of service.

He loved playing cards and darts, fishing, boating and eagle watching. Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife of 22 years, Delana; daughters: Cheryl (Arthur) Delp, Cassville, MO, Sheila (Mark) Stowe, Osage Beach, MO, Theresa (Randy) Lamont, Davenport, IA and Brandy Holst, Davenport; sons: Terry Delp, Moberly, MO, Jamie (Alicia) Caskey, Macon Georgia, Randy Johnston, Springfield, MO, Tim Caskey, Davenport, IA; special relatives and friends: Art Delp, Roy Caskey, Mary and Richard Yerian, Jerry Waters, and Sherry Gardner; brother, Henry “Corky” Delp, sister, Sarah Joan (George) Frost, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, sons Raymond and Jimmy Delp, grandson Andy Johnston, sister in law Norma Delp and brother in law Benny Neighbors.
