Gerald D. Davis

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Following visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m.in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice. Gerald was born November 21, 1932, to Arthur and Florence (Bolsinger) Davis in Colesburg, IA. On October 20, 1951, he married the love of his life, Wilma Canida. He worked for Franks Foundry and then Silver Steele before retiring in January, 1994.

Gerald loved the outdoors. He enjoyed going fishing, camping, and hunting, especially for deer and turkey. He also liked to raise chickens.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Wilma Davis; daughters: Carol Schmidt, PA, Diana (Melvin) Hintze, Calamus, IA, Sharon (Richard) Weiland, Davenport, IA, and Norma (Marty) Albert, Davenport, IA; sons, Johnny (Debi) Davis, Buffalo, IA, and Randy (Deb) Davis, Sweetland, IA; sister, Calleen Hesseltine, Davenport, IA; brother, Al Davis, Iconium, IA; along with 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Arthur Davis; and son-in-law, Terry Schmidt.
