

Gloria Jean Williams, 61, of Davenport, passed Thursday, June 26, 2025. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Oakdale Memorial Gardens.
Gloria was born in Davenport in 1963, the daughter of Adolph, Jr., and Ann Mae Williams. She attended Davenport schools, including the former Truman School, graduating in 1982. Gloria worked alongside her brother Adolph at the Handicapped Development Center (HDC) in Davenport for over 35 years.
She was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Rogers Kirk. She had a special relationship with the Lord and devoted her life to Praise as a young child. You could find Gloria enjoying local events with her family, including parades, the Festival of Trees, or any activity involving her HDC family. Gloria received an award from HDC recognizing her as “Participant of the Year.” She enjoyed shopping, spending time with Brother Adolph, and sporting new hair styles on a regular basis. Gloria chose to join her Sister Carolyn, who transitioned on June 7, to be in the arms of the Lord together.
Gloria is survived by her sister Kathy (Elder Eddie) Horton. Brothers Adolph Williams III, Johnny (Angela) Clinton, of Davenport and Ricky (Tammy) Williams, of Racine, Wisconsin. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and many friends and staff at the Handicapped Development Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Carolyn Wilkinson and Shirley Clinton, and nephew Eddie Horton, Jr.
