Grace Elaine Armbrust

Grace E. Armbrust, 88, of Bettendorf, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Genesis East Medical Center. A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 12pm – 3pm at the St. Croix Room at the Isle Casino, 1800 Isle Parkway, North Tower, Bettendorf, Iowa; a memorial service will begin around 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bettendorf YMCA, Attn: Jessica Rushing, 3800 Tanglefoot Lane, Bettendorf, IA 52722.

Grace was born on November 7, 1933 to Carl and Josephine Garner in Chicago, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Robert F. Armbrust on November 15, 1958; he preceded her in death in 2008. Grace worked many jobs throughout her life, but her greatest job was being a mother and later a grandmother. She enjoyed spending time playing Bridge, cooking delicious meals for friends and family, gardening, and in her later years water aerobics.

Those left to honor Grace’s memory are her children: Robert Armbrust, Caren Armbrust, and Kurt (Kelly) Armbrust; grandchildren: Stephanie (KC) Knutson, Mary Grace Armbrust, Brigid Armbrust, and Molly Armbrust; great-granddaughter Libby Knutson; sister Lois Garner; and brother Roy (Marg) Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her parents.
