Funeral services will be Friday, February 5, 2021 at 10 am at The Runge Mortuary. Masks are required. There will be no visitation. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Helen was born March 11, 1930 in Oakwood, MO. She was the daughter of Raymond E. Woodsmall and Nora “Blanch” (Crutchlow) Woodsmall. She married Louis E. Hinch on August 15, 1953 in Davenport; he preceded her in death on August 12, 2013.
She retired from Truman School after 14 years of service in the cafeteria. She also had worked at National Foods Store for 5 years and Peter Pan Bakery for 15 years. Helen loved attending family get-togethers, fishing, camping, boating on her pontoon and camping at her family cabin at Lake Odessa. She also loved to bowl and was on several area leagues.
Those celebrating her life are her daughters: Doloris (John) Love, Janis (John) Thornton; three grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Shawn Gurke, and siblings: Ethel Foley, Earl Eldon Clifton and Carl Clifton.
