Helen L. Meyer

Graveside services for Helen L. Meyer, 74, of Davenport, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Helen exited from this lifetime on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Luther Crest in Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.Helen Lois Van Hooreweghe was born on November 10, 1938 in Moline Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Antoinette (Van Altvorst) Van Hooreweghe.She was a 1957 graduate of Alleman High School in Rock Island and from there worked at Modern Woodman of America for four years. She later was employed for a number of years by Quint City Stone.She married Alvin L. Meyer on January 27, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline, Illinois. Helen was a genealogist, a quilter, crochet and knitter, and belonged to the sewing circle at her residence.Helen is survived by – a Sister-In-Law Helen Van Hooreweghe of Rock Island along with many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by – Her parents; her husband; a Son: Michael Patrick; a Sister: Rachel; and 2 Brothers: Raymond and Joseph.
