Irene May Ramirez

Irene M. Ramirez, 69, of DeWitt, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Genesis East Medical Center. Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment at LeClaire Cemetery. Memorials in Irene’s memory may be made to World Central Kitchen or the Humane Society of Scott County.

Irene was born on February 21, 1953 to Chester and Audrey Morris. She worked at Dick’s Excavating, Ada Gaffney Shaff, Palmer College Financial Aid, Cohen Furniture, and as a Phlebotomist and Mobil Medical for Life Insurance. Irene was united in marriage to Alfonso Ramirez in 1999. Irene was very athletic, taking part in many activities such as bowling, softball, swimming, tennis, biking, and dancing. She loved cooking, gardening, being outside in nature, animals of all sorts and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Alfonso; grand-dog Coco; daughter Dawn Stotlar, son Richard (Angie) Stotlar; daughter in law Debbie Stotlar-Moorhead; grandchildren Richie and Annie Stotlar; step daughter Cheryl (Ben) Poertner and family; step-grandchildren Raquel Ramirez and her family Gio, Caesar, Armand, and Venice Graham; brothers: Terry (Rose) Morris, their daughter Mandie (Eric) Stoffers, her daughter Katie (Joe) Duffy and family, Mandie’s sons Dylan and Hunter Stoffers, Terry’s son Josh (Mimi) Morris, granddaughter Dawson Morris, Terry's daughter Bethany Morris, granddaughter Vasillia Kolintzas, Terry’s son Brett (Lindsey) Morris, and grandson Everhett Morris; Dal (Phyllis) Morris, his family: Rebakah (Josh) Summers, Nick Morris and family; brother Jeff (Regina) Morris, Damian Morris and family; and family friend Mark (Starla) Leibold and their son Markus.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jeff Morris, niece Bethany Morris, and step-daughter Sonia Ramirez Graham.
