James M. Connors

James M. Connors ,81, of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Senior Star. A visitation will be held at 11 am on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at the Runge Mortuary. James was born a son of Maurice and Opal (Fentz) Connors on January 3, 1936 in Davenport, IA. He proudly served in The United States Army From 1955-1958. He was united in marriage to Juanita Brown July 27, 1963 in Rock Island; she died July 2, 2002. James was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal as a Tank Mechanic, where he retired January 1991, after 30 years of service. His past times included watching NASCAR, and one of his fan favorite highlights was having his picture taken with Richard Petty.. He was known to be a stubborn man with an ornery streak but also a very gentle man. James is survived by his children: Jill (Heath) McDanel of LeClaire,IA, Rob(Sandy) Connors of Port Orange, FL, Jerry Connors of Pleasant Valley, IA; Five grandchildren and Three great granddaughters. He was preceded by His parents, wife, three brothers and three sisters.
