Visitation will be 10am to 12pm on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory Davenport. The funeral will be at 12pm in the Runge Chapel. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Schools Foundation, Davenport Education Association Scholarship, or the Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild. Jane was born June 15, 1939 in Cresco, IA to Daniel & Inez (Meyer) Schoonmaker. She was united in marriage to Michael Becker on November 26, 1971 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2005. Jane had been a teacher for 25years in the Davenport Community School District, having taught at Smart and Walcott Intermediate Schools. She was a member of the Davenport Education Association and the Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild. Jane had been a 4H mom for her children, enjoyed her card groups, and loved quilting.
Survivors include a daughter Megan (Steve) Baldry, Davenport, IA; son Nathan (Rothtida) Becker, San Marcos, CA; 6 grandchildren Gabrielle, Amanda, Sarah, Luke, Annalise, & Miles; sister Mary Hatlestad, Lakewood, CO; sister and brother in laws; nieces; and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
