Janice C. Boldt, 73, of Davenport passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on April 7, 2019 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am Friday, April 12, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1506 Brown Street, Bettendorf. Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Thursday, April 11, at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly Road, Davenport. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Janice was born in 1945 to Joe and Lavera Weber in Washington, Iowa. She graduated from Keota High School. She received her BS in elementary education from NE Missouri State in Kirksville, MO. She went on to earn her Masters degree plus 30 from The University of Iowa, Iowa City. Janice was an elementary teacher for 52 years in Davenport Community School district retiring in May 2018.
Janice dedicated her life to teaching young students and enjoyed spending quality time with family. Some of her favorite hobbies include gardening, traveling, card club, Sudoku, cooking and baking for family and friends. Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband of 31 years, Kenneth Boldt; cherished stepson Shaun Boldt, Katy, TX; two beautiful granddaughters Tessa and Tatum Boldt, Katy, TX; sister, Diane (Arnie) Kaufmann, Davenport; brother Laverne (Judy) Weber, Richland, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
