

Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Services to celebrate her life will be Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10 am at The Runge Mortuary. Her final resting place will be in Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, OH. Memorials may go to the ALS Association.
Janice was born on December 19, 1943, in Appleton City, MO. She was the daughter of Herman L. and Naomi (Zwallen) Fleischer.
She graduated from Appleton City High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in music and continued on to receive her Master’s Degree in voice performance and oboe from Central Missouri State College. She married William “Bill” Fulkerson on November 25, 1965, in Appleton City, MO.
She taught high school music in Warrensburg and later moved to the Quad Cities where she taught music for the Temple Christian Academy in Moline for over 25 yrs. She also served as choir director for Gospel Temple and Cornerstone Christian Churches, both in Moline and was very active in other church events. She took great pride in being the Director of the Christmas play, “The Gospel according to Scrooge.”
In earlier years, Janice loved embroidery, cross-stitching, playing cards, especially UNO and 5 Crowns and playing the piano. She always kept a meticulous and beautiful yard and enjoyed tending to her rose garden. Janice loved cats and had many of them throughout the years.
Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband, Bill, daughters: Lisa (David) Kreinbrook, Benson, AZ and Amy (Patrick) Allen, Orient, OH; grandchildren: Judah and Seth Kreinbrook and Hannah, Jonathan and Brogan Pauwels; sisters, Anna May Nelson, Overland Park, KS and Bonnie Sue McCarroll, Raytown, MO, numerous nieces and nephews and her cat, “Franky” Her parents and her cat, “Freddy” preceded her in death.
