Jean L. Schnack

Memorial services for Jean L. Schnack, 81, of Davenport, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Davenport. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no visitation. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Mrs. Schnack died on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at St. Mary’s Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Jean Louise Jasper was born on April 21, 1933 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Louis and Lillian Jasper. Following her graduation from Davenport High School she married William H. Schnack on July 22, 1950. He preceded her in death in June of 2013.Mrs. Schnack was employed in several medical offices in the Quad City area and lastly was employed by Dr. E. L. Wallace for 23 years retiring in 2003. Jean was a long time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Davenport and also the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Walcott, IA.Surviving members of the family include – 1 Son: Louis (Marcia) Schnack of Davenport; 3 Daughters: Cheryl (Logan) Peitscher of Bennett, Cathy (John) Newman of Bettendorf, and Connie (Russ) Trantina of Peoria, IL; 8 Grandchildren, and 3 Great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: William; a brother: Harold; and a son and 2 daughters at birth.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
