

Jeanne Frances McCullum, 92, was called home to Heaven on August 23, 2024. Following her wish to be donated to Palmer College of Chiropractic, cremation rites will be accorded with private interment at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Macomb, Illinois. Memorials in Jeanne’s name may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, Illinois.
Born on August 5, 1932 in Seaton, Illinois, Jeanne was the only child of James Bennett and Frances Dora Long McCullum. She attended a one-room school for 8 years outside of Tennessee, Illinois and graduated from Colchester High School. Jeanne also attended Western Illinois State Teacher’s College, Macomb. She was employed by Servus Rubber in Rock Island for 35 years, holding secretarial, management and sales positions.
Upon her retirement in 1989, Jeanne devoted her time to caring for animals and children. She was a caregiver for many families and volunteered as a preschool helper at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Moline. Jeanne ended her caregiving years as ‘Neano’ to a special little boy named Kole Shuda. She was blessed to watch Kole grow into adulthood as she lived out her final years at The Fort Armstrong Senior Residence in Rock Island.
Jeanne was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Macomb. She also regularly attended services at Sacred Heart Catholic, Moline and St. Paul’s Lutheran, Moline. Survivors include cousins and many friends. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, a godson and two beloved Maltese dogs, Cotton and Pepper.
