Memorial services for Jennifer “Jenny” H. Vogel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at St Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Jenny passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Jennifer Helen Vogel was born on September 3, 1983 in Davenport, the daughter of Richard and Sonia (Larsen) Vogel. She had a way of brightening everyone’s day with her radiant smile and joyous spirit. Jenny was a social butterfly, often being described as a “ray of sunshine.” She was very active in Special Olympics. Jenny will be remembered for the joy she brought to so many people. Those left to cherish her memory are her Parents: Richard and Sonia Vogel; Sister: Margaret (Miles) Thompson; Nephew: Christian Thompson; Aunts and Uncles: Margaret (Dan) Cooper, Lynette (Tom) Wall, Sonja Larsen, Mark (Kathy) Larsen, Paul (Kris) Larsen, Robert (Neola) Vogel, Anne Vogel; and numerous cousins. Jenny was blessed to have had very special caregivers, Sarah and Tina, as well as her roommates, Marla and Debbie. They made Jenny’s life bright and beautiful in so many ways, and became like family over the years. Jenny was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her uncles, Richard Larsen, Dale Vogel, and Duane Vogel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center via their website at www.HandicappedDevelopment.org or directly to the family. The proceeds will enhance the lives of HDC participants and Special Olympics.
