On July 19, 1986 the Lord gave us an angel and his name was Joe. He was with us for a short 36 years and our hearts are broken that we will not see his smile, hear his jokes, or any of the hundreds of other ways he made this world a better place and warmed our hearts and lives. Joe was fueled with kindness, love, joy, compassion, patience, empathy and giving personified. It didn’t matter what challenges he faced in life, he faced them with determination, unselfishness, and hope.
Joe was born in Delaware to Joseph Jr. and Susan Lambert. Although Joe was born with Spina Bifida he didn’t let it define who he was, after all wheelchairs were just another mode of transportation. It did not stop him from living life to its fullest, becoming a fierce Steelers and Penn State fan for life. He and his family moved to the Quad Cities in 1995, and his love for sports remained firm. Whether sliding across the ice in sled hockey or swinging for a home run in baseball, Joe would always grace us with one of his ear-to-ear smiles. A social media wiz, Joe’s snappy puns and hilarious memes would be guaranteed to brighten your day. Serious about his fitness, Joe would work out at the gym religiously.
A friend to all, we’re going to miss those smiles buddy. Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies!
Be at peace buddy, our shining star.
Joe is survived by his parents Joseph Jr. and Susan Lambert, sisters Erin Lambert (Iowa) and Morgan (Scott) Bellamy, nephew Everett Bellamy and niece Samantha Bellamy (Pennsylvania), and step-grandmother Helen Lambert of Ontario, Canada. His Loving Aunts and Uncles and cousins all held together by his social media skills. He kept us all in touch.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Lambert and Henry and Adelaide Wagner.
May God hold you in the palm of his hand and may you share the joy that Joey gave to us for all eternity.
