Joyce A. Taylor, 51, of Davenport, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at St. Mary’s Healthcare. Funeral services will be 12:00pm Wednesday August 24, 2011 at the Greater Faith Baptist Church in Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.

Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Davenport

Joyce was born March 18, 1960 in Louisville, Mississippi, the daughter of Cary and Ethel (Coleman) Harrington. She was united in marriage to James Taylor in 1977; he preceded her in death.

She worked as a janitor/housekeeper in the St. Louis, MO area and then moved up to the Quad Cities where she was a dishwasher in Muscatine and most recently worked in the packaging department at Proctor & Gamble in Milan, IL. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington, IA and a charter member of the Greater Faith Baptist Church in Davenport.

Those left to honor her memory include her son: Isaac Harrington, Moline, IL; daughters Monica LaTresa Harrington,Davenport ; Toshio LaShaunda Harrington, Davenport; grandchildren: Kylie Lynn Harrington, Ashley LaTrice Nelson and DeTavion DuPree LaValle Harrington; her companion, Anthony Talton, Davenport, siblings: Shelby Crawford, FL; Willie McGraw, Davenport; Joe Lee (Beverly) Harrington, Cedar Rapids, IA; Elder Russell (Mary) Harrington, Davenport; Judie Harrington and her companion, Kelly Colvin, Davenport and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents,Cary Abraham Harrington and Ethel Mae Coleman Harrington grandson, Devin Harrington and siblings: Charles McGraw, Francis Coleman, Ethel Ruth Speers and Ernestine Crawford preceded her in death.
