Judith "Judy" Eckstein

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March, 5, 2013 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Monday, March 4, 2013 at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church or to the Scott County Humane Society. Judy was born on May 11, 1931 in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Peter H. and Ida (Hoffman) Theil. She married Wayne Otto Eckstein on November 12, 1949 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Davenport.

Judy was very happily married to her High School sweetheart for 64 years. Spending lots of time together they traveled the world. They had a special kind of love that would make you feel good just by being around them. Judy was full of laughter and would light up a room with her presence. She never met a stranger and would befriend everyone. She had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person. Judy enjoyed gardening, taking care of her family, and just having fun. She also enjoyed watching her four legged furry friends while others were on vacation.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staff at Genesis West, 5th Floor West, for their wonderful care and support.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Wayne; children, Mary (Jon) Kaufmann, Deborah Montella and Patty (Brad Bliss) Hall; grandchildren, Michelle, Chris, and Alexandra; and three great grandchildren with one on the way.
