

June Marie Baum, 82, of Davenport went home to be with Jesus Monday, May 1, 2017 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
June was born on March 31, 1935 in Clark County, WI. daughter of Joseph E. and Clara M. (Rieder Laager) Travis. She moved to the Quad City area in 1949. She was united in marriage to John R. Baum on June 24, 1972. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a food service tech for local school systems from 1979 to 1994. She enjoyed volunteering for many different jobs, last being at C.A.S.I. from 2000-2003.
Her hobbies include: sewing, baking, making crafts, mall walking and attending church functions at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church since 1972.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Fran I. Scotting, Debbie M. (John) Mattson, Tom (Kathy) Rehr, Dr. Val M. Svetich and Robb F. (Kelly) Svetich II; grandchildren: Lisa (Joe) Berg, Brenda (Jon) Norton, Rebecca (Donovan) Buchanan, Natasha Plumley, Aiden Plumley, Trent (Christi) Mendoza, Leslie (David) Casas, Mercedez Svetich and Cierra Svetich; great grandkids: Colin Buchanan, Stella Buchanan, Preston Thomas, Phabian Thomas and Riley Mendoza; brothers Donald Laager and Johnny Laager; sisters, Carol Frier and Charlotte Lieske and special friend, Mel Norris.
In addition to her parents and husband June was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Redding.
