Kayla M. Labath, 17, of Long Grove, Iowa; passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her home. Funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 1pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4-7pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Memorials in her memory may be made to the family.
Kayla was born on December 7, 2004 to Sean Labath and Jody Rippy in Davenport, Iowa. She was a Junior at Edison Academy Alternative School, while all of the teachers there were wonderful one that stood out the most was her teacher Christy. Kayla was very quick witted and had a great sense of humor. She cared very much about her friends and was always there for them. Kayla was an animal lover, but cats and guinea pigs held a very special place in her heart. She loved listening to music all of the time and could often be found perfecting her make up look or drawing.
Those left to carry on her memory are her parents Sean (Linda Jenkins) Labath; birth mother Jody Rippy; siblings: Courtney and Devin Bousman; grandparents: John and Catherine Labath, Rita Dockery, and Brenda Frits; her beloved guinea pigs Peanut, Sweetie, and BB; special cousin and best friend Isabelle Shipley; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
