Kevin was born October 8, 1958 in Moline; the son of James and Eva Fugate. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Pam J. Franklin on November 10, 2001 in Rock Island. He had been employed for over 37 years at Nestle Purina. He was fortunate to have been a part of the West High School 1977 State Baseball Championship Team and went on to play major-league fast-pitched softball for several leagues. He was an obsessed fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR. He enjoyed yard-work, traveling, grilling and was the “go to” guy who was always helping others. He had a passion for his first car which he still has, a ’72 Rally Nova. His motto was, “Work hard, play hard.” Those missing him include his loving wife of fourteen years, Pam; children: Rachel Fugate, Cassie (Brandon) Hedrick, Arianne Veyette, Lindsey (Doug) Peterson, Andy (Andrea) Franklin, Jayme (Paige) Fisher and Josh Johnson; step-father, Richard Nichol; grandchildren: Kendall, Izabelle, Jerzey, Paizley. Mimzi, Raine, Mavrik, Aimee, Zachary and Blake; siblings: Kathy Fugate and her fiancé, Todd Erickson and Keith Fugate; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his uncle, Ward; his work family at Nestle Purina and many special friends, “you know who you are.” His parents preceded him in death.
