Lawrence "Larry" Dorris

Lawrence “Larry” William Dorris, 73, of Davenport, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 2:00 pm at the mortuary. Larry was born May 29, 1941 in Van Buren, Missouri, the son of Sanford and Maxine (Jordan) Dorris. He was formerly married to Sherry Leedom of Ottumwa, IA. He later married Kathleen Coggins of Davenport; she preceded him in death.

Larry worked for several years at Nichols Homeshield and retired from International Harvester after twenty years as a welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially traveling.

Those left to honor his memory include his son, Todd and wife, Dana, Davenport; grandsons: Scott and Zach Dorris; great grandchildren: Ava Daniels Dorris, Kianna Dorris and Drake Scott Dorris; former wife, Sherry Badtram; brother, Donald (Elaine) Dorris, Milton, FL; brother-in-law, Jerry Potts, Eldon, IA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded ind aeth by his parents, son, Scott and a sister, Gail Potts.
