A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 12 pm in the Davenport Memorial Park Mausoleum, where he will be laid to rest.
Lester was born in Davenport on June 22, 1947. He was the son of Chester Glen and Edith Rose (Kling) Donelson Sr. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Levan on August 28, 1965 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on July 6, 2022.
He worked at Red Jacket Pumps for 33 years and went on to drive bus for River Bend Transit. He was an avid music lover and collected records of all types of genre.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Rhonda (Mike) Malake, Virginia and Lisa Donelson, Davenport; grandchildren: Dustin, Cory and Evan Malake and Devin VanTol and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents and two siblings preceded him in death.
