Lester Strohbehn

Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 pm at the mortuary.

Lester was born August 20, 1930 in Davenport, the son of Henry and Ella (Schroeder) Strohbehn. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Lester worked as a sheet metal worker/welder for Local Union #91 out of Rock Island, for the Schebler Company. He retired in 1992 after twenty-eight years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trips to Wyoming to hunt deer, gardening, John Deere Tractors and his Ford vehicles. He loved to fix things and could fix everything he touched.

He was united in marriage to Shirley “Sis” Brandt on March 25, 1956 in Yuma, AZ; she preceded him in death on November 30, 2007.

Those left to honor his memory include sons, Steven (Kimberly) Strohbehn, DeWitt, IA; Scott, Davenport; daughter, Carrie (Michael) Krulik, Davenport, grandchildren: Deanna, Nicole and Andrew Krulik; Christopher Mock; Elizabeth, Samantha, Stephanie and Brandt Strohbehn; great granddaughters, Zoa Strohbehn and Olivia Medina, great grandson, Zachary Strohbehn; siblings: Dorothy (Ronald) Lindemann, Davenport, Virginia Garlock, Buffalo, IA; Lois (LaVerne) Puck, Davenport, Viola Lloyd and Evelyn Hutchison, both of Buffalo, IA. His parents and siblings: Helen Boetger, Walter, Warren, Louis and Harold preceded him in death.
