

Linda Elaine Taylor, 88, of Davenport, IA passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, at 9:30 am also at Weerts Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Dementia Society of America.
Linda was born to Woodrow and Eva (Saunders) Tobias on November 23, 1937, in Muscatine, Iowa. She attended Muscatine schools and was baptized at age 8 at Mulford Church. She went on to attend Trinity Bible College & Seminary and work at Denoyer-Geppert Map Company in Chicago. Linda married Robert (Bob) Taylor on April 20, 1957. Linda and Bob moved to Florida while Bob served in the Air Force. She worked at Ferman Chevrolet during their time there. After Bob returned to civilian life, they moved back to Iowa to start their family. They were blessed with two sons, Doug and Dane.
Linda was very active in their school and church activities. She participated in bible studies and church choir for many years. She enjoyed traveling in the motor home with Bob to visit family and do some sightseeing. But above all, Linda loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with and helping family and friends. She was always sure to make every event special in some way.
Those left to honor Linda’s memory are her sons, Doug (Joyce) and Dane (Julie) Taylor; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Ally, and Austin; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; and her sisters, Joyce Holmes and Fairy Belle “Toby” Meyer.
