

Lonnie Ray Jantz, 70, of Coal Valley, Illinois, formerly of Abilene, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 and is now in the hands of the Lord.
He will be laid to rest at Abilene Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
He was born to Ervin and Almeda (Base) Jantz on November 8, 1950 in Dickinson, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Sue (Makoski) on November 3, 1975. They shared 16 years of marriage and five children together before divorcing. Later he married his high school sweetheart, Pat Suskey, on June 10, 1994. Pat passed away in March of 2017.
He enjoyed his time working at Bawden Printing in Eldridge, Iowa and retired after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed photography, especially nature photography, writing poems, drawing, bowling, fishing, and the great outdoors. He made a custom bicycle, due to paralysis, and thoroughly enjoyed riding and giving his children rides. His greatest joy and accomplishments were his five children.
He is survived by his children, Talitha (Doug) Nickles, Trisha (Michael Paul) Skinner, Travis (Kristen) Jantz, and Stefanie (Dave Housh) Jantz; mother of his children, Sue Jantz; grandchildren, Crissy, Josh, James, Jaydlyn, Logan, Noah, Lilly, Easton, and Claudia; step-children, Sharmon Holm and Jenine Fortner; best friend and brother-in-law, Sonny Suskey; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy; siblings, Ivan Jantz, Ruby Carpenter, Bob Jantz, and Cindy Willis.
