Lynn Marie Hawkins, 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at her residence. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial gathering will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Weerts Funeral Home. Lynn was born on May 14, 1952, in Davenport, IA, to Ruth (Petersen) and Clarence Voelkers. She graduated from Durant High School and soon began her career, working for many years at MidAmerican in various roles. Lynn married Randy Hawkins, and together, they shared nearly 50 years of love and companionship.
Outside of work, Lynn let her creativity shine through the creation of gourd lamps. A talented artist with a love for antiques, she enjoyed attending crafting shows and going antiquing throughout her life.
Her passing leaves a sorrow that words cannot fully capture.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Randy Hawkins; sister, Cathy (Jim) Hart, and her beloved dogs, Bear and Daisy.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Suzanne McBride.
