Marjorie J Robinson

Marjorie Jean Robinson, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 97. Known for her kind-hearted nature, Marjorie was deeply loved by her family and friends. Per her wishes, Marjorie will be cremated and laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt, Iowa at 1:00 p.m. on October 25, 2025.

Marjorie Jean Robinson was born to William and Nettie Rathman in Hardin County, Iowa, on January 7, 1928. She worked at Swiss Colony, packaging candy, and then later went on to work as an assembly worker at Eaton Corporation.

In 1948, Marjorie married Willard Pitts, and together they had six children. He preceded her in death in 1963. She later remarried in 1995 to James Robinson and was blessed with five additional stepchildren. He preceded her in death in 2017. Throughout her life, her family grew with the addition of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Cheryl (Richard) Robinson of Wonder Lake, IL, Linda MacKenzie of Davenport, IA, Gary (Eileen) Pitts of Chicago, IL, Denny Pitts of Mesa, AZ, and Jeanne (Carl) Reese of Rock Falls, IL; and stepchildren, Jackie Nelson, Marsha Miller, and Reid Robinson.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Nettie Rathman; husbands Willard L Pitts & James Robinson; her daughter Nancy Bigger; her stepchildren, Sharon Larrison and Steve Robinson; and her son-in-law, James MacKenzie.
