

The funeral service will be held at The Runge Mortuary on April 21st at 12:00pm with a visitation beginning two hours prior. He will then be laid to rest at the Rock Island National Cemetery with military honors.
Marty was born on September 16, 1956, to Joseph and Irene (Young) Curry in Torrance, California. He graduated from North Scott High School and went on to serve in the Navy as a welder. He was united in marriage to Lynne Haigh on September 20, 1980. After his service he worked as a professional truck driver for Roadway, with over two million miles without an accident. Marty was a 3-time swimming champion of the Senior Olympics and held countless billiards trophies. He was a long-time member of The Branch Bible Church in Dixon, Iowa.
Marty, also known as “Catfish Curry”, loved music and the outdoors. He was the author of two children’s books and also a gifted wood worker. There wasn’t a phone call or conversation, he didn’t mention fish. Above all he put faith and family first.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Jasen Keegan, grandson Dakota (Kirsten) Williamson, great granddaughter Laura Jayne Bremer, sisters; Jenean Seibert and Su Wolfe, brothers; Matt and Mike (Cheryl) Curry, and his beloved dog Omega.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lynne, parents Joseph and Irene, and his brother Mark Curry.
