

Visitation will be Monday, June1st, from 10 am until 12 pm at the Runge Mortuary with a short prayer service to follow. His final resting place will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his family.
Marvin was born in Iowa City on September 10, 1935, the son of John A. and Mary (Kerr) Conger. He was raised in Maxwell, IA and at age 16, moved to Davenport and lived with his brother, Lonnie. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Judith M. Durham Long on April 1, 2000, and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2021. He was a devoted employee for Culligan Water Systems, having worked as a deliveryman there for 23 years before retiring. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed traveling with his wife and playing cards with his many friends.
Those left to cherish his legacy are his children, Jordy Conger, Davenport and Melissa (Gary) Blumer of Louisville, NE, daughter-in-law, Lisa Conger, Davenport, grandchildren; Eric Conger, Chelsea Hepner, Hillary Conger, Lindsay (Justin) Ridgway, Victoria (Brent) Hahn, Travis Conger, Amber (Mike) Schmit and Scott Blumer; 14 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife Judy, Marvin was preceded in death by a son, Tim in 2018 and siblings: Dale, Gerald, Lonnie, C. Max and Kenneth Conger; Elsie Dooley, Hazel Powers and Helen Banks.
The family would like to thank the staff at Crest Health Center and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care given to Marvin and his family. Your kindness will not be forgotten!
