Mary Ruth Carter

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening March 12, 2025, from 4-7pm at the Runge Mortuary and Crematory. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 13, 2025, at 10am in the Runge Mortuary chapel. Memorials may be made in Mary’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project. Mary was born on November 15,1942 in McAllister Oklahoma to Cecil and Ruth (Craig) Burks. On June 21, 1971, she was united in marriage to Harry "Peps" Carter. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage. She enjoyed the weekly Friday night get together with family and friends. Everyone would come to the shop for drinks and fun. If you knew Mary, you were invited. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. She loved visits from her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband; children, Debbie Smith, Steve Strout, Donna (Terrell) Hoffner, David (Beth) Carter; bonus children, Lee Carter, Alan Carter, Paul (Gena) Carter; grandchildren, Brayden Smith, Carlton Smith, Eric Smith, Nicole Hutchison, Katie Hutchison, Austin Hoffner, Dalton Hoffner, David Strout, Whitley Carter, Brian Carter, Mathew Carter; several great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Kathy) Burks.

Preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harold Burks, Bill Burks, James Burks and sister, Anita Smith.
