Mary Joanne McChesney

Mary “Joanne” McChesney, 85, of Muscatine formerly of Davenport passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am in the Runge Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, November 10, 2016. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday,, November 9, 2016. Joanne was born on May 8, 1931 in Alamont, MO the daughter of Henry T. Ferguson and Hazel Nellie Harris. She was baptized at Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she remained a lifetime member. Mary was united in marriage to Ralph L. McChesney on April 1, 1951 in Wapello, IA. He preceded her in death in 2010.

She attended Scott Community College for Surgical Technician. She worked briefly as a custodian for Blue Grass Elementary but spent the majority of her life as a homemaker.

During her free time Joanne enjoyed sunbathing, shopping, watching her shows, such as Matlock, Night Rider, Hallmark and Lifetime Channel and Jimmy Swaggert. She loved Doves and Crosses. She adored her family and loved spending time with them.

Those left to cherish her memory include: sons Bruce (Cathy) McChesney, Muscatine and Leroy (Chris) McChesney; grandchildren: Chastity (Matt) Hicks, Amanda (Loren) Leopard, Sara McChesney, Joshua (Erin) McChesney, Jessica Greene, Justin (Sara) McChesney, Katie Foley, Jesse McChesney, Mark Sievert, Lance Sievert, John Westhusing, Thaddeus Foster, Teah Foster,

Trevor Foster; and twenty-four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Helen Odle.
