Mary E Thorson

Mary Eve Thorson, 32, of Griffith, IN, formerly of Moline, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 2:30 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to ASA Baseball of the Quad Cities.

Mary was born December 24, 1978 in Moline, the daughter of John and Shari Ann (Johnston) Thorson. She graduated from Moline High School and then received her Bachelor of Education degree from Western Illinois University. She was currently teaching at Ford Heights Middle School in Ford Heights, IL. She loved ASA softball and baseball and coached for her junior high volleyball team. She also enjoyed singing, dancing and playing cards; especially euchre.

Those left to honor her memory include her parents, John and Shari, Moline; brother, Elmer, Davenport; four nieces; two nephews; aunts: Roxanne Lewis and Tina Cox, Clinton, IA; Becky Johnston, Cedar Rapids, IA; Laurie Culvert, Ottumwa, IA; uncles: Larry Johnston, Davenport; Thomas and Gary Johnston, Eddyville, IA; Mike Thorson and Dennis Blocker, Davenport; Erv Thorson, Bettendorf and numerous cousins. Her aunt Sandy Williams preceded her in death.
