Mary E. Tinnian

Mary E. Tinnian age 80 of Lima and formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, died at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 in St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH. She was born December 2, 1931 in Wisconsin; the daughter of the late George W. and Cora M. (Hann) Holden. She was formerly married to Harry Reeves, who is deceased. She married Darwin Tinnian in 1970 who preceded her in death in 1999.

Mrs. Tinnian was a retired cook with Eagle Food in Illinois. Upon Darwin’s retirement from Alcoa Aluminum they traveled in an RV spending the winters in Texas and enjoyed fishing and camping. Mary also enjoyed playing Bingo with her grandchildren and video poker at Jumer’s Casino.

Survivors include 2 sons – Randy L. (Kathryn) Reeves of Elida; Terry Reeves of Davenport, Iowa; a step-son – Darwin E. (Lynda) Tinnian Jr. of St. Petersburg,Florida; and a step-daughter – Linda S. Cunningham of Davenport, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and step grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and step grandchildren; 2 sisters – Dorothy (Archie) Swanwick of Riverdale, Iowa; and Helen (Bill) Duex of Davenport, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by a son – Dennis Reeves of Davenport, Iowa who died in 1981; 4 brothers – Glen Holden; Everett Holden, Ralph Holden; and Lawrence Holden.

Funeral services will be 11:30AM Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport, Iowa. The Rev. Sylvia Larssen will officiate. Burial will follow in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
