Matthew Aaron Miller

Visitation will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at noon at Runge Mortuary Chapel. Matthew was the youngest of three children born to Marla (Herrman) and Melvin “Buster” Miller. He arrived during a snow storm on Feb. 16th, 1979 in Davenport, Iowa. Matt attended elementary school in Virginia. The family moved to Bettendorf, Iowa in 1990 where he attended Pleasant Valley schools. There, he wrestled and played football. He graduated in 1997 from PVHS and earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Scott Community College. Matt worked at Lucky’s bar and John Deere in the Quad Cities then travelled as a Lowe’s associate. In 2008 he began working for MidAmerican Energy in their call center. It is there where he met his wife, Aubrey (Bishop) Miller. They celebrated their wedding in May 2015 and enjoyed a relaxing Florida honeymoon. This Christmas, they surprised family with the announcement that they are expecting their first child. He adored his dogs Porsche and Jax. Matt was an avid Florida Gators fan. He loved Ferraris and Formula 1 racing. He and Aubrey spent many days watching UFC fights and attending Bar Wars Trivia Nights with family & friends. They enjoyed riding their motorcycles and golfing together. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to benefit his wife and child be donated at Southeast National Bank “Matthew Miller Memorial”. His survivors include his wife, unborn child, parents, siblings: Jen (Scheib) & Merrick Miller, Maureen (Miller) & Jim Liljegren, and his grandma, Eleanore (Leidenfrost) Herrman Knuth. He was the greatest uncle to his niece and nephews: Austin, Carson, Emilie, Curtis, and Shawn. He will also be greatly missed by his new in-laws: Tracy & Mark Ogden, Michelle & Mark Bishop, his loving aunts & uncles: Diane & Randy Sehmann, Juli & Mark Fritz, Cheri & Mike Miller, Karin & Marvin “Moose” Miller, as well as his dear cousins: Craig, Chris, Carey, Michael, Ryan, Heather, Bonnie, Megan & Lindsay. Matthew was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Glen Herrman, Bertha “Gussie” (Spear) & Arthur “Buck” Miller.
