Melvin “Stan” Pasley, 76, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Genesis East Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Stan was born on October 3, 1946 in Champaign, IL to Marion and Ellen (Williams) Pasley. Stan proudly served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1966. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Brotman on October 14, 1972 in Champaign, IL. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2022. Stan worked for Deere and Company as a data processor until he became a self-employed computer consultant. His true career passion began when he became a hot air balloon pilot and owned and operated Ascension Ballooning. He enjoyed the time he spent working with his family creating many fond memories.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter Amber Pasley (Mike Ahlf) Pueblo, CO; grandchildren Jasmine (Curtis) Lipes, Devin Minch; great-grandchildren Novah, Calie and Everett; sister, Dee Lambert of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beth.
