There will be no services or visitation for Michael A. Michaelis, 63, of LeClaire, IA. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Mr. Michaelis died on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center - Terrace Park in Bettendorf, IA. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service in Davenport, IA assisted the family with arrangements.Michael Allen Michaelis was born in Watertown, WI on September 10, 1946, the son of Edgar and Marie (Seamonson) Michaelis. He married Beverly Drews on February 21, 1970 in Madison, WI. Mr. Michaelis was the owner and operator of LeClaire Auto Parts. He thoroughly enjoyed drag racing and working on cars.He is survived by his Wife: Beverly Michaelis of LeClaire; a Daughter: Michele (Dennis) Even of Riverdale, IA; a Son: David “Zeke” (Jenni) Michaelis of LeClaire; a Brother: Robert Michaelis of Omro, WI; two Sisters: Roslyn Whiting of Jefferson, WI, Judy (Fritz) Dorhorst of Deerfield, WI; five Grandchildren: Ryan, Sydney, and Addison Even, Mitch and Mallory Michaelis.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – Eastern Iowa branch: 1026 A Ave. NE, Suite 113, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403 or online at www.jdrf.org.
