Michael W. Rosing

A Celebration of Life service for Michael W. Rosing, 61, of Davenport will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at New Hope Church, 4209 Locust St., Davenport. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Rosing passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Michael Warren Rosing was born on October 7, 1956 in Germany on an American military base, the son of Willis S. and Barbara (Wolf) Rosing. He graduated Davenport West High School, where he was a member of the swim team and competed at the state level. In 1977, he married Mercedes Mickelson. They had a wonderful marriage of 40 years, during which they had two children, Curtis and Kristin. For 17 years Mike was a rotary press operator at Star Forms. His most recent work was in the healthcare field as a registered nurse. Mike enjoyed being able to help others through his nursing. He loved spending time with his family on Sundays and being able to see his grandchildren. He also held a special place in his heart for his cats. Mike was an avid classic movie and car enthusiast. Those left to honor his memory are his Mother: Barbara (Steve King) Lawton; Wife: Mercedes Rosing; Children: Curtis (Soung Young) Rosing, Kristin Najarro; Siblings: Willis Rosing, Jim Lawton, Willie Rosing Tilton; and Grandchildren: Annette and Terrance Salinas. He was preceded in death by his father, Willis S. Rosing; and step-father, Charles Lawton. Memorials may be directed in Mike’s honor to the American Heart Association or to New Hope Presbyterian Church.
