Nancy Cummins, 82, of Davenport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday February 25, 2019 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, March 1st at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 516 Fillmore Street, Davenport. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4-7 PM at Weerts Funeral Home, 3625 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, with a rosary beginning at 7 PM. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Nancy was born in 1937 to William and Mary Trainor. She married Bill Cummins on April 14, 1956 in Davenport. Nancy retired from Edens Automatics, Davenport. She attended both St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she was a volunteer. She enjoyed gardening, movies, swimming, camping and a nice glass of wine. Her family was her priority, her passion, and the light of her life.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 62 years; children, William Jr (Bette), Robert Cummins, James (Penny) Cummins, Steven (Karen)Cummins, Penny (William) Fer and Mary (John) Oxendine, twenty one grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jean Kruse and brother Jim Trainor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
