

Nancy Bloch Weigle passed away Wednesday, July 27th at Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Services will be held at the Runge Mortuary Chapel on Friday, July 29th at 9:00 AM and burial will be held immediately afterwards at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Davenport. There will be no visitation. Nancy was born March 27, 1920 and her parents were Fanny Fleishman Bloch and Harry David Bloch.
Nancy grew up in Davenport and graduated from St. Katherine’s School. She attended Northwestern University, Augustana College and graduated from the University of Iowa with a Music degree.
Nancy served in the Navy during World War II, stationed in Washington, DC and Seattle, WA as a Chaplain’s Assistant. Last fall she participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, DC.
Nancy married Julian M. Weigle at her parent’s home in Bettendorf after the war. Julian passed away in 2002. They have four children to honor their memory. David Weigle of Chicago, Joan (Robert) McGee and BJ (Kathy) Weigle of Bettendorf and Jonathan Weigle of Davenport. She is also survived by grandchildren Sarah McGee, Anna (Christopher) DeNatale, Caroline (Chad) Everitt, Ben Weigle, Henry Weigle, Ellie (Brandon) Bonis, Nate Weigle, Julia Weigle and her three great-grandchildren Christopher DeNatale, Dylan Everitt and Madeline Bonis.
Nancy embraced her family, her life and loved to travel. She was an avid reader and was a past woman’s golf champion at Davenport Country Club, a Life Master bridge player, accomplished Mah Jong player and a daily crossword puzzle solver. Nancy was active in the Visiting Nurse Association, Quad City Symphony and Temple Emanuel Sisterhood. She held memberships at Davenport Country Club and Temple Emanuel. Memorials may be made in Nancy’s memory to the Temple Emanuel Endowment Fund or Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
