Odena M. Winter

Odena M. Winter, 87, of Davenport passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or Kings Harvest No Kill Animal Shelter in Davenport. Online tributes and condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Odena was born February 22, 1929 in Columbus Junction, IA. the daughter of Donald and Grace (Smith) Jennings. She was united in marriage to Norman Winter in 1957. After many years of service she retired from the Davenport Police Department. She enjoyed spending time with her loving cat, Annie and she was a lifelong Cubs fan. Odena loved to garden, read the paper and to do the crossword puzzles. Survivors include her son, Don (Janelle) Winter, Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Sandra (Brian) Hendren, Davenport; sisters, June Wiley, Muscatine, and Dixie Miller, Topeka, KS, and sister-in-law, Norma Jennings, Columbus, Junction. Odena was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers: Warren, Doyce, Monroe and Olin Jennings.
