Patricia M. Gilkison

Patricia Mary Jane “Esther” Gilkison, 86, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, November 23, 2012 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:30 AM Friday at the mortuary. Patricia was born to David and Hannah (Henry) Herbel in Herington, Kansas on September 27, 1926. She married Harry W. Gilkison, who preceded her in death in 1973.

Patricia was a homemaker and a wonderful babysitter, starting out with her grandchildren and babysitting for other families and friends well into her 70’s. She was a member of TOPS and attended Newcomb Presbyterian Church for many years. She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo and time spent with her grandkids.

Patricia is survived by her son, Dennis (Carol) Gilkison, of Davenport; three grandchildren: Darrin Gilkison, of Davenport, Dana Diedrich of Baldwin, WI, and Dawn Gilkison of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Betty Baird, of Topeka, KS; and many loved nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Hanna Marie; and brother, Leroy Herbel.
