Paul F. Valett, 91, of Davenport went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Davenport. Following cremation, a committal service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Vietnam Veterans Chapter #299 will provide military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet at the Runge Mortuary by 10:30 am on Tuesday. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Mr. Valett served in the US Army during World War II. He married Rosemary Dominacki. They were married for sixty-two years. He retired from the US Postal Service in Davenport.
Survivors include his five children: Rose Salmon, Celia Trealoff, Steven Valett, Sue Galanius and David Valett; eleven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and three sisters.
