Paulene Grace Holloway, 65, of LeClaire, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Crow Valley Golf Club, with a time of sharing at 2:30pm. Memorials in Paulene’s name may be made to The Humane Society of Scott County, or to King’s Harvest Animal Rescue.
Paulene was born on April 9, 1958 in Dublin, Ireland to Patrick and Marguerite Holloway. Following her schooling in England, she worked at The National Westminster Bank. Paulene moved to the United States in 1978 as a nanny. She attended DMACC and the University of Iowa. She worked in sales for many years and her latest endeavor was with her own company, Angus Merchandising. Paulene was a social butterfly and would befriend anyone and everyone she met in her adventures. She was very fashionable; the epitome of elegance and class. Her best accessory was her beautiful smile. Paulene met her life partner, Colin Macumber in 1998 and they spent 25 wonderful years together. In the summer, they could be found boating on the Mississippi River. Paulene and her beloved dog Angus would walk the beach collecting shells.
Those left to honor her memory are her life partner Colin Macumber; children Amber (Tim) Smith, Ian (Megan) Macumber, and Kasey (Jeron) Heaton; grandchildren Cora and Willa Smith, Ryder, Hudson, and Liam Macumber; sisters Vivienne Holloway and Siobhain (Peter) Hayashi; nephews Sean and Connor Allchin and Kai Hayashi; her Auntie Joan Currie; mother-in-law Sandra Macumber; sisters-in-law Wendy Laude and Holly (Mike) Latulippe; best friend Cindy Schulte; and many cousins worldwide.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Angus.
