

Raymond R. Danielsen, 93, of St. Charles, Mo. Formerly of Davenport, passed away Friday July 15,2016 in St. Charles. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 20,2016 at 2:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 noon until the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Raymond was born May 3, 1923 in Winnet, Montana, son of Alfred and Hilda (Shaefer) Danielsen. He was united in marriage to Alice Jager on June 2, 1944 in Davenport. They had been married almost 72 years.
Raymond was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and served on many committees in his younger years. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal after high school in Machinist Training before serving in WW II. He was in the army in the 26th tank battalion based in Central Europe. He was a contractor for many years building and remodeling many homes in the Quad Cities. Dad loved his profession and continued to work with wood-making projects after retiring. He was a member of the American Legion Post 26 and the Elks. He loved animals, nature, dancing, card playing, and reading. He loved spending time with family and friends. He had a dry sense of humor, full of one liners, smiles and chuckles.
Those left to honor his memory are: son Russell (Barb) Danielsen, Corydon, Ia, daughter Deborah (Roger) Schneider, St. Charles Missouri, son in law Paul (Gwen) Middeke, sister in law Sandra (John) Hoelzen Davenport, grandchildren (7) great grandchildren (9).
He was preceded in death by wife, Alice, his parents, daughter Donna Middeke, and all his siblings.
