Richard Lee Ketelsen

Richard L. Ketelsen, 80, of Donahue, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2015 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at rungemortuary.com.

Richard was born December 9, 1934 in Davenport, IA, the son of Herbert and Martha Ketelsen. He was united in marriage to Sharron “Sheri” Chalmers on December 7, 1956 in Davenport; she preceded him in death on September 28, 1996.

He was employed as a Dock Foreman for H & W Motor Express until his retirement. He served in the Navy and was a member of N.R.A., Arbor Day and Farm Bureau. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting Hawkeyes, Packers and John Deere memorabilia.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters: Bambi (Bryan) Burmeister, Davenport and Shelley (Mitch) Schabilion, Eldridge; grandchildren: Tyler and Morgan Schabilion, Scott, Derek and Danielle Burmeister, and Monique (Clint) Williams; three great grandchildren, Natalia, Zaeden and Reiner and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Shirley and Donna and brother, Keith.
